Inside Our 100-Day Plan for New Portfolio Companies
How we earn the right to operate in the first 14 weeks after close.
The first 100 days after close determine the next ten years. We have institutionalized our approach because the same playbook, run with discipline, produces dramatically different outcomes than improvisation.
Days 1-30: listening. We meet every member of the leadership team, walk every site, read every customer survey, and rebuild the financial model from raw data. We resist the urge to make changes during this window.
Days 31-60: alignment. We facilitate a strategy off-site with the operating team, agree on the 18-month value creation plan, and identify the two or three key hires that will unlock growth.
Days 61-100: execution. Reporting cadence is in place, the financial management system is integrated, the first add-on acquisition pipeline is built, and the leadership development program is launched.
By day 100 the company knows what it is building, who is building it, and how progress will be measured. That clarity is the foundation for everything that comes next.
